In order to be qualified in the delegate and senatorial position, the aspiring officials or politicians needs to be a resident of the state of Maryland for at least a year prior to the election time, the qualified age for a senator should be at least twenty-five years of age, while for a delegate is at least twenty-one years of age, and lastly, is that they should be a citizen of Maryland. Each elected officials have a four-year term for their respective position, but in unfortunate circumstances, such as resignation, death or disqualification of a member, a vacancy for the said position will occur, thus their terms are recognized as not limited, and the governor will be the one who has the power to appoint a replacement for the vacant position.
